Places I Carry
When I travel, I don't try to photograph everything. I usually find myself noticing the streets, architecture, people, changing light, weather and the small details that make one place feel different from another. Some photographs are of places I planned to see, while others come from simply walking around and noticing what is happening in front of me.

Field Note
Walking is often when I notice the most. A street can change completely with the light, the weather or the people moving through it. Sometimes I stop for the architecture or a view, and sometimes it is something much smaller — a sign, a doorway, a car, a café or an ordinary corner that catches my attention.

I also like the moments that happen between the places I planned to visit. A drive, a train, a quiet morning, time with family, or stopping somewhere for coffee can become as memorable as the destination itself. Those photographs help me remember what being there actually felt like, not just what I went there to see.
Closing Reflection
I don't expect to remember every place in the same way. Usually a few photographs and moments stay with me long after a trip is over. Places I Carry is where I want to keep those — not as a record of everywhere I've been, but as a collection of what stayed with me.
